Few days back, my sister and I went to a clinic because my sister was sick. Alhamdulillah, she's doing fine. (YAY! :D) And the reason why I choose to write about 'Cervical Cancer' today, is because I saw a small article about it at the clinic. Yes, it makes me worried, not only for myself but I'm worried for my 'ibunda' (MOM), sisters and the ones who are suffering because of this cancer.

January is The Cervical Cancer Awareness Month! |
Before we start, Cervical Cancer is the more treatable when it's diagnosed and treated early. Prevention is always the best than treatment. :)
Shall we begin, ladies? (DRUM ROLL)
So, here are the main risks (FOR ME) that causes a Cervical Cancer ;
1. High Sexual Activity.
Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is the main risk factor Cervical Cancer. For *women, who had sexual intercourse with multiple sexual partners, has the highest risk of getting this cancer. On the other hand, women who are not sexually active has lower risk in of developing the cancer. Sexual activity with multiple partners increases the likelihood of many *other sexually transmitted infections (STI).
*at the age of 17 years old or younger, or both
*chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis
2. Smoking.
Smoking can lead to higher risk for *precancerous changes in the cervix and for progression to invasive Cervical Cancer especially for women infected with HPV.
*dysplasia
3. Family History
Women have higher risk of chemical if they have a first degree *relative who has/had cervical cancer.
*mother, sister
Other risks are ;
- Socio-economic and Ethnic Factors
- Use of Contraceptives
- Having Many Children
- Immunosuppression
- Diethylstilbestrol (DES)
